Objective:
Perform individual and team research in the most important issues of bioethics today in order to achieve a deep understanding of the philosophical foundations needed to address these and future issues and to develop the tools needed for the applied, philosophical analysis of such issues.
Sample Topics for Study:
1. Sexual difference: equality and complementarity.
2. Marriage, nature, and public interest.
3. The meanings, ends, and goods of human sexuality.
4. Dating and Courtship.
5. Conjugality, family planning, and contraception.
6. Stem cells: embryonic and adult.
7. Stem cells: ant/oar.
8. Frozen embryos: their production, conservation, adoption, and implantation.
9. Assisted procreation: IVF and other techniques.
10. Motherhood, Fatherhood, Filiation, and Human Perfection

Course Requirements:
Study of the required bibliography.
Study of short text handout (around five pages) prepared by fellow students prior to each presentation.
Participation in classroom discussion.
Research on one's own topic and prepare handout for other students to study prior to one's own presentation.
Preparation of 2000 word paper with specialized bibliography.
Oral Presentation of paper and response to questions.
Consign final draft of paper.
