Fr. John Wauck

John Wauck, a Chicago native, studied history and literature at Harvard University and holds a doctorate in philosophy from the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross. Prior to ordination, he wrote speeches for the attorney general of the United States and the governor of Pennsylvania. He has written for many publications, including American Scholar, Christian Science Monitor, The New Criterion, Beliefnet, and the Fellowship of Catholic Scholars Quarterly. He has also commented on Church affairs for CNN, BBC, ABC, CBS, Associated Press TV, Reuters, New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, Time magazine, and U.S. News and World Report.

Diego Contreras

School of Church Communications, Pontifical University of the Holy Cross
Born in Granada, Spain, Prof. Contreras teaches Media Analysis at the School of Church Communications of the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome. Currently, he is the Dean of the School. Previously he worked as the Rome correspondent for the news agency "Europa Press." He has a Ph. D. in Social Institutional Communications. His field of interest is the coverage of the Catholic Church in the mainstream press. He is the author of "La Iglesia católica en la prensa" (Eunsa, 2004) and several articles on the Church and communication. He is also the editor of the books "Chiesa e comunicazione: metodi, valori e professionalità" (1997) and "Direzione strategica della comunicazione nella Chiesa" (2007), and he runs a weblog about the Catholic Church and journalism (www.laiglesiaenlaprensa.com).

Daniel Arasa

Born in Barcelona (Spain), Daniel Arasa has a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism (1994) from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), Spain, an M.A. in Television and Radio (2001) from  Southern Methodist University (SMU), Dallas, TX, and a Ph.D in Social Institutional Communications (2007) by the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross. He worked from 1994 to 1997 as a journalist in the political, social and local sections of Europa Press news agency (Spain). Currently, he is the coordinator of studies at the School of Church Communications of the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross, in Rome, where he started teaching in 2001. His main research interest is online religious communication, particularly the internet communication of Catholic institutions.

Manuel F. Sánchez

A lawyer and journalist, born in Guadix (Granada), Spain, Manuel Sánchez is vice-president of  ISCOM (Italy), member of the Directive Committee of Intermedia Consulting (Italia-USA) and vice-president of the Fundación Estudios de la Comunicación (Spain).

Pablo Pérez-Rubio Villalobos

Pontifical University of the Holy Cross
Born in San Sebastian (Spain), Pablo Pérez-Rubio Villalobos studied economics and public administration at the University of the Basque Country and received a doctorate in theology at the Pontifical Unversity of the Holy Cross, where he is now the head of the Organizing Committee of the Professional Seminars on Church Communications Offices and the Secretary of the departments of Social Institutional Communications, Theology, Philosophy, and Canon Law.

Lluís Clavell

Academic Advisor
Msgr. Prof. Lluis Clavell, a native of Barcelona, is the emeritus rector of the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross, where he is also a professor of Philosophy. The author of numerous books and articles on metaphysics and other philosophical topics, he has served as a consultor for various Vatican congregations and pontifical councils, including the Pontifical Council of Culture and the Congregation for Catholic Education.
